Thread Lifting. The Non-Surgical Face Lift with NO Downtime!

A Thread Lift through VG Plastic Surgery South Korea can produce similar effects to a surgical face lift, without the down time. This procedure offers a great alternative for those who are not wanting to go under the knife for a younger looking face.
A thread lift is considered a minimally-invasive treatment, it does not involve cutting or stitching, however, it does involve injecting the thread underneath your skin to “lift” it up, creating the effect of pulling the skin back slightly and therefore tightening the face.

Benefits of Thread Lifting

Patients who undergo the Thread Lift procedure enjoy a more definitive V-shaped face with minimal effort and zero recovery time. This means that patients can go back to normal activities on the same day of the procedure.
Because the Thread Lift involves the use of threads, not surgery, there is no need for incisions and therefore no scarring. As the threads dissolve tissue elasticity is improved and regeneration is encouraged to create a smoother facial contour. Cell generation and collagen synthesis diminishes the appearance of wrinkles and enhances the V-line.
This method is simple, yet it’s effectiveness can be seen very quickly, making it a suitable treatment for those with busy lives.

Overview of Threading Procedure

Firstly, a numbing cream will be applied to the area that is meant to be treated. It takes up to 20 – 30 minutes for the numbing cream to take effect. The doctor will then mark out the positions of the threads to achieve the best possible results.
The doctor will begin by inserting a thick hollow needle into the facial skin, targeting under the fat layer. One end of the thread is carefully tied to firmer underlying internal structures while the other end goes underneath the skin.
As the surgeon withdraws the needle, the filaments on the sutures are deposited into the sagging parts of the face. The doctor then tugs on the threads to elevate droopy skin and sets it to a more youthful-looking position. The procedure is relatively simple and can be done in just an hour or less.

Top Ten Tips for your Cosmetic Surgery Holiday

Based on past client feedback and interviewing the surgeons, we detail 10 essential points to keep in mind before you travel on a surgery holiday!

DO have realistic expectations

The biggest factor that determines what you will look like after surgery is what you look like before!
We are all different, so the same surgery will look different for two different people, even if you are the same age, shape and size.
After a breast augmentation, the same size implant will look completely different in two different patients, as all nipples and chest shape and sizes are unique.
You cannot hope that your breasts will look like Scarlett Johansson and your butt will not look like Beyoncé’s! Judging yourself on others is just a recipe for disappointment and regret.
Do your homework, but be prepared for improvement, not perfection. Also remember that surgery will not change your life, that is up to you.

DON’T smoke!

Smoking promotes poor healing and bad scarring, so our surgeons recommend that you give up smoking completely for at least 4 weeks before and 4 weeks after surgery. You should not take Nicorette gum or nicotine patches either. The chance of developing keloid scars are greatly increased if you do smoke.

DON’T fall prey to the trends of new surgery methods

Plastic surgery methods are sophisticated now, and available the world over. Occasionally new names crop up for old methods, which are particularly favored by the more expensive surgeons at home to portray that they are inventors of new methods! More often than not, these ‘new’ methods are dressed up from traditional procedures, and all that has changed is the name! Beware of surgeons and websites that throw fancy words at you and then charge double!

DON’T feel pressured by the opinions of others

There should be only one reason that you are getting the surgery done – because YOU want to! Well-meaning friends and family will have their own comments, but don’t be swayed into or out of making a decision based on the opinions of others. People have surgery for a million reasons, but make sure that this is YOUR reason!

DO get your body into tip top condition before your holiday

A good diet and regular exercise in the weeks leading up to surgery can benefit healing and recovery. The goal is to get your body in optimal health, the blood and oxygen circulating. We have consistently found that the clients who are in good health and condition prior to surgery have the best healing and less obvious scarring in the months after surgery.
The measure of ideal body weight is BMI or Body Mass Index, which is a ratio of body weight in Kg to height in metres squared. Normal BMI is between 18 to 25. Candidates who are more than 15kg over the ideal body weight are not good candidates for cosmetic surgery such as liposuction or abdominoplasty, because these procedures are designed only for body sculpting and are not for weight reduction.
Surgery on overweight or obese patients will not achieve the goals and only result in patient dissatisfaction and higher chance of complications. Overweight patients should enter an exercise and diet regime to lose weight to near normal level and become suitable candidates.

DO get yourself some advice before you leave on wound/scar healing

Some scars can be treated with compression therapy, and some with topical creams. The creams are applied to reduce scarring and to speed up the healing process. Rose hip, aloe vera and some Vitamin E lotions have been found to help speed recovery. Massaging these creams helps soothe and soften the scars. The surgeon can also prescribe a specialized crème for reducing the appearance of scars. This must be applied morning and evening.

DO ensure you have a thorough consultation

The consultation is the most important part of the surgery, it is when you can ask all the questions that you have before the surgery. The surgeon will have as much time for you as you need, so use this time and don’t be shy to ask all the questions that you need.

DO cover up from the sun

Whatever treatment that you have, one thing is essential – keep all scars out of the sun! All good surgeons will advise you to do this – it is necessary for proper scar healing. Exposure to the harmful UV rays of the sun may damage the skin and lead to bad healing. So, bring your sunscreen and a good hat.

DON’T be afraid to ask questions!

Before you go, when you get to your destination, and after surgery, never hesitate to contact one of your team at TAQTIK to ask any questions. We will pass all medical questions to the surgeon and get back to you as soon as possible. We will be in touch with you after your holiday, we also like to ask if you can send across photos regularly so the surgeon can see wound healing and how the results are forming.

DO have fun!

Don’t forget to have a great holiday while you are recovering! There is plenty to do, as our team will show you, so take a bit of spare cash to make sure that you have a great holiday.
Pampering treatments, shopping trips, day trips, dinners and nights out are all possible, and can all be booked after your surgery, when you are feeling well. So make the most of your holiday – get some rest, get some fun nights in and out, and you will be feeling on top of the world when you arrive home!

The Jewel of the Orient for Cosmetic Dentistry

Thailand is an extremely attractive tourist destination. From the capital, Bangkok, with its vast cultural attractions, to exotic beaches, islands and national Parks, the country presents tourists with a wide variety of travel experiences. For the most part, Thailand is relatively inexpensive, offering many amenities, including excellent food and affordable, quality lodging. And the Thai people have a reputation for friendliness and hospitality that should appeal to every traveler.

Visiting Bangkok

Bangkok is a teeming metrópolis and new buildings can be found around the corner from old Buddhist temples. It welcomes more visitors than any other city in the world because it is a city of contrasts with action at every turn. Marvel at the gleaming temples, catch a tuk tuk along the bustling Chinatown or take a longtail boat through floating markets. Food is another Bangkok highlight, from local dishes served at humble street stalls to haute cuisine at romantic rooftop restaurants. One of its main attractions is the Grand Palace, the temple at Wat Po.

Visiting Phuket

Phuket is Thailand’s largest island renowned for its beaches, like Patong, Karon and Kata. One of its main attractions is the Big Buddha, one of the most important and revered landmarks on the island. The huge image sits on top of the Nakkerd Hills between Chalong and Kata and, at 45 metres tall, can be seen from as far away as Phuket Town and Karon Beach. The lofty site offers the best 360-degree views of the island, with amazing vistas.

Visiting Chiang Mai

The best things to do in Chiang Mai include visiting some of the city’s beautiful temples and unique sites. The historical capital of the old Lanna Kingdom, Chiang Mai is rich in culture. The Old City – an attraction in itself – hosts most of the best temples, museums and other interesting sites, with many more just outside the ancient city walls and moat. One of its main attractions is the Underground Ancient City of Wiang Kum Kam

A Face Lift Turns Back the Clock for 70-year-old Sandy

70-year-old Sandy came home to Australia from her surgical holiday as if from a time machine!

Sick and tired of looking worn out and drained, she embarked on a surgical journey that would take years off her face. Looking for international health care solutions she contacted the care team at Taqtik, who connected her with the right surgeon, destination and accommodation for her budget and surgical goals.

After her consultation Sandy choose to undergo multiple procedures- a full face lift, an upper and lower blepharoplasty and a sub-mental lipectomy with great results.

We asked Sandy to share her experience, and this is her story.

” Arriving at the huge airport I was met by a lovely man named Augustine. He was so very helpful to both my partner and I. He was an absolute gem of a man. He was really like a tour guide, explaining what everything was that we observed on our long journey to the Hotel.
He was always on time to pick me up for appointments at the hospital. He even took us on a tour of KL, to Vatu Caves, a site I really wanted to see.
If I lived in KL I’d want to have him as my personal driver. Such a pleasant man.
The Client Service Manager, Kumari, I just loved this lady. She was such a calming influence on me when I was admitted, and she was by my side when I was absolutely terrified of having the staples removed.
She was constantly in touch with me every day ensuring my wounds were healing and that all my needs were met. Another gem on your team. I will consider her a friend for life. She is such an empathic, caring lady and a very good nurse.
The staff at Beverley Wilshire hospital were amazing and very gentle people. They cared for me very well. As for Dr Nasir, well what a gentleman. I loved him, and I’m so very happy with the results of my facelift. I don’t feel like a 70-year-old anymore.
I would highly recommend Gorgeous Getaways to anyone wanting cosmetic surgery.
I would also recommend Lanson Place Ambassador Row where we stayed. My second time there. It was so well maintained, the food was great, the staff were very helpful and it was CHEAP! “

Why a face lift?

As we age, our facial skin loosens, and wrinkles and the muscles of the neck may weaken as well. Anything that can cause the skin to lose elasticity will hasten the ageing process, including sun exposure, weight fluctuations and heredity.
While a face lift cannot stop the aging process, it can often make a person appear to be a decade younger than their actual age.
Face lift Cosmetic Surgery can address these problems by firming and tightening the skin of the face and neck all in one step. It is most effective for the lower face (jowls and neck). A double chin can also be improved at the same time by a surgical procedure called submental lipectomy.
To get the best results for a facial rejuvenation, face lifts are frequently done in conjunction with other procedures such as upper eyelid blepharoplasty and lower eyelid blepharoplasty. Your surgeon may also recommend injections of cosmetic fillers for reducing fine lines, deep creases in your forehead or frown lines between your eyebrows.

Will a Face lift improve skin tone?

Contrary to popular opinion, the texture of the skin will not be changed by a face lift. Acne scars, age spots, fine lines and smoker’s creases will soon return to their original texture, no matter how tight the skin is pulled.
A face lift will not give someone beautiful skin unless they have beautiful skin to begin with. If you have a skin issue that you would like to improve, it may be worth considering a skin treatment such as laser resurfacing in combination with a facelift to improve the texture of the skin and smooth skin wrinkles.

Best candidates for a face lift

Both men and women have face lifts, with the best candidates being those whose face and neck has excess fat, lines and has begun to sag. The average age for patients is 40-50 years, but older patients have also had successful face lifts. In general, the best candidates for face lift are:

• People with good facial skin elasticity
• In good physical health
• Psychologically stable
• Non-smokers
• Wanting to improve the appearance of their face and neck
• Well informed in regard to the procedure’s outcome
• Having realistic expectations

And generally, have:

• A deep line, or fold, running from the corner of your nose to the corner of your mouth.
• Jowls, or loss of a well-defined jaw line associated with youthfulness.
• Deep wrinkles in the cheeks and sagging of the “highlight” areas of the cheekbones.
• Loose skin, wrinkles, vertical “cords” or excess fatty tissue in the neck.

Preparation for a face lift

Before you undergo a face lift, it is important for you to discuss any medical conditions that you have and tell your surgeon about any medications that you are taking. If your surgeon decides that you can have a face lift, discuss the procedure thoroughly with them before deciding if you want to go through with the procedure. You may still change your mind even after discussing the procedure with your surgeon.
Your consultation with the surgeon will give you a detailed understanding of the treatment – the extent of surgery, your health evaluation, your expectations and exactly where the areas of the face will be treated. When you are happy with what has been discussed, you will sign a booking form for the operation.
Your surgeon should be able to answer any questions that you have about face lifts including questions about what to expect during and after a face lift and the complications or problems that sometimes occur with face lifts. You may also take information from this website to your appointment to discuss with him.
You will have a physical evaluation of the areas to be treated. At this appointment you and your surgeon will discuss your goals, and last queries you have and finalize the plan for surgery. From this examination, he can determine the best procedure to use, and then explain it to you in detail, including the benefits and limitations. The surgeon may also recommend a combination of the face lift with eyelid blepharoplasty, browlift or submental liposuction, for a better facial profile.
It is important to stress the importance of not smoking before a face lift procedure. Smoking can cause problems with circulation and make complications more likely, including post-operative chest procedures.

Surgical Procedure

The classic facelift, or SMAS, is recommended by the surgeons. This is performed by making an incision at the temples behind the hairline. The incision typically extends downward, along the natural creases in the skin, in front or on the edge of the ear, in the crease of the ear lobe, and behind the ear. Making the incision in the natural creases helps hide scarring after surgery. The surgeon then separates the skin and muscles of the face from the deeper facial tissues.
In some cases, the skin is removed, in others the skin and muscle tissues are reshaped. The underlying muscle may be tightened with the skin, or separately. After the tightening or removal of excess skin, the skin is re-draped and sutured.

facelift
Incisions usually begin above the hairline at the temples, follow the natural line in front of the ear, and curve behind the earlobe into the crease behind the ear, and into or along the lower scalp.
Facial, neck tissue and muscle may be separated; fat may be trimmed or suctioned and underlying muscle may be tightened.
After deep tissues are tightened, the excess skin is pulled up and back, trimmed and sutured into place.
Most of the scars will be hidden within your hair and in the normal creases of your skin. Your new face will emerge soon after.
Face lift patients normally undergo general anaesthesia. Time in surgery is approximately 4 to 6 hours. In some cases, drainage tubes are left in place under certain areas of the skin for about 2 days to reduce post-surgical swelling. Depending upon the extent of the procedure, a face lift may be performed under local anaesthesia—while you are numbed and sedated, but awake, or a light general aesthetic, where you are lightly sleeping. You should discuss anaesthesia options with your plastic surgeon and the anaesthesiologist.

Recovery and Post-op care

After surgery, patients may experience moderate swelling of the eyelids and other facial areas. Immediately after surgery a large dressing is usually applied, but this will depend on which surgeon is doing the surgery as they all work differently. It is removed typically within 2 days after surgery and may be replaced with an elastic wrap. Any stitches will be removed after 6 days unless you have dissolving sutures. There is normally some discomfort following face lift surgery, which can be managed with medications.
You will be moving around in a couple of days, but we advise you to relax for a week or so. Strenuous activity should be avoided until the bruising and swelling has subsided. This can take four to six weeks; however, within two weeks the swelling should be reduced enough to engage in some social activities. Many patients prefer to delay significant social activities for four weeks after surgery.
The medical facilitator you choose through Taqtik will provide excellent post-care support, with follow-up visits and programs to assist your recovery. If you have any questions or concerns, please let us know and we will schedule an appointment with the surgeon.

If you would like to know more about face lifts, and the available packages check out the Taqtik online health marketplace today.

10 Great Reasons to use a Medical Facilitator

Why book through a medical facilitator like Taqtik, rather than going direct to the hospital? Excellent question! Here are 10 great reasons why you should use a facilitator for your medical holiday.

1. PRICE:
Although price should never be your main consideration when making important decisions about your health, it’s something we are all concerned with! We have a special relationship with each of our Medical Facilitators. Our partners can get you the best local pricing, often cheaper than advertised internationally.

2. TRAVEL & ACCOMMODATION:
Our partners offer flexible travel arrangements. You can make your own booking, or they can arrange this on your behalf. Our facilitators are partnered with most travel programs and can get you excellent discounts! We do not mark up our travel services. This is complimentary.

3. EXPERIENCE:
We have been involved in medical tourism since 2004, with access to over 6000+ client testimonials, case studies, and referrals. Our consultants have personally traveled for surgery and can share their experiences. We know how to manage your medical holiday directly and we are not an agent looking for referrals.

4. PARTNERS:
Our partners have long-term relationships with surgeons and hospitals. It is important to understand a surgeon’s skills and choose a surgeon based on your individual needs. Surgeons move around. If you book direct with a hospital and need follow-up care, it may be difficult to locate the surgeon as they often change hospitals, even countries. Partners maintain relationships with hospitals and make sure you have continual communication with your surgeon if and when you need it, following surgery.

5. STAFF:
Our partners employ dedicated and experienced consultants that provide free consultation for as long as you need it. No question is too difficult to answer and they work hard to give you complete peace of mind before booking your medical holiday.

6. PROCESS:
Our partners have experience in preparing clients for surgery. They provide a step by step guide to booking your procedures that includes:
• Itinerary – a day to day view of your appointments and schedule
• Payment and Receipt – we help process your payment directly to the hospital and provide confirmation of payments received to date
• Pre-departure Information: This is a very important document to read to answer all the small questions about your journey before you leave
• Consent forms – partners provide consent forms for your planned surgery outlining procedure and risks. You will be asked to sign these when you arrive that you agree with the procedure and risks. They are quite standard documents for any hospital and surgeon in the world, but of course if you don’t agree to the risks, then you should not have surgery and we can delay or cancel your surgery.

7. HEALTH PRIVACY & CONFIDENTIALITY:
We have a state-of the art IT infrastructure that complies with global privacy laws. Our system is a collaboration of multiple technology partners that ensure complete client privacy from the moment of inquiry to follow up support. The system is designed to comply with HIPAA (USA), ATIP (Canada), NPP (Australia), HIPC (New Zealand), NHS (United Kingdom, and HST (South Africa), but is adaptable to suit the privacy requirement of all countries.

8. DEDICATED SERVICE MANAGER:
Most destinations offer a dedicated service manager who will look after you personally once you arrive. This will include arranging all transfers, appointments with surgeons, babysitting, or grocery shopping. (arrange in advance)

9. POST-CARE SUPPORT:
Once you arrive back home you may have additional questions. You are connected back to your consultant who booked your original surgery so they understand your original needs without having to explain. We also ask you to complete a survey as we want to continually improve. Your feedback is very important.

10. JOIN THE TEAM:
You are part of our family, and if interested are always looking for consultants. Share your experience with others and join our team!

Julianaa’s Medical Travel Tips!

For the past ten years Taqtik International Co-Ordinator Julianaa has been working with partners like Gorgeous Getaways who bring people froom all over the world seeking cosmetic surgery in Malaysia & Thailand. Julianaa is genuinely passionate about helping clients to achieve their personal dreams, and has learned a tremendous amount about medical travel. Julianaa shares her account of working in the travel industry, how to deal with nerves before surgery and what to expect when you travel with an experienced Taqtik partner like Gorgeous Getaways!

julianaa

Meeting people from different backgrounds and cultures has always been a passion of mine. I get a lot of enjoyment from working with partners like Gorgeous Getaways on the frontline who help clients to co-ordinate their holidays.

When I started in this industry I had no idea that medical tourism would be such an amazing industry, and how much it means to the people who use it. It’s very rewarding working with amazing surgeons, nurses and clients.

Although I had read about cosmetic surgery nothing prepared me for the experience of working with patients and seeing the results with my own eyes.

The results I have seen from surgeons have been true works of art.

Our partners like Goreous Getaways bring clients from various backgrounds and different countries. Young or old, everyone had their own personal reasons for wanting surgery.

I have learned that whatever their reason, the point of the matter is, it was their journey, their desire and their reason to have it done. One should not be quick to judge.

In majority of the cases, some clients arrive with Gorgeous Getaways with some form of anxiety and excitement, which is completely natural. The healing process for each individual differs from person to person. Some faster than others. It all depends on whether they have any health issues and what kind of lifestyle they lead.

Julianaa’s Medical Travel Tips

  • Medical History- It is very important that you provide your surgeon with “all the details” regarding your health issues when filling out their forms. If you have had previous surgeries and had problems post-recovery let your surgeon know about it. This will give your surgeon a better understanding on how to help you best.
  • Ask Questions- Ask as many questions as you want during your pre-consult. It’s your right to do so, and it’s the surgeons obligation to answer all your questions. Prepare your list of questions before meeting.
  • Go Slow- Whatever procedure was proposed by your surgeon, you need to be 100% sure that it is what you want to have done as well. It’s always good, where possible to give yourself some time to think about it.
  • Be Sure- If you aren’t very sure about having the surgery done, for whatever the reason, then don’t. It’s always good to have it done once you are ready mentally and physically for this. The surgeon’s will always be there, no matter how long you take to decide.
  • Post recovery- Make sure you follow your surgeon’s advice. This is where you should once again ask him all your questions.

Questions to ask your Surgeon:

  • How long will it be before the swelling goes down?
  • Are there certain kinds of foods that will help the healing process?
  • What are the types of vitamins that are beneficial?
  • How soon can you start running or doing exercise?
  • What to look out for once you are back home?
  • Talk to your GP- Should you have a wound break-down after you return home, show your doctor a letter from the surgeon.
  • Hygiene- Make sure you wash your hands before applying any ointment to a wound. Hygiene is very important for wound healing and to prevent any infection. Do not at any time touch your healing wound with unwashed fingers, especially right after surgery during recovery.

I am very glad to be part of this industry of being able to work with great international partners like Gorgeous Getaways who help a person in my very small way. In the process, I got to meet some truly wonderful people. Wishing you all the very best in your journey.
