All-on-4® Dental Implants for Longer Lasting Results

The term All-on-4® zygoma implants treatment is a surgical and technique prosthodontics procedure for total rehabilitation of the edentulous patient, or for patients with badly broken-down teeth, decayed teeth or compromised teeth due to gum disease. This treatment is a revolutionary cost-effective and permanent dental solution that (with proper care) can last 20 years or more. Patrizia Barrueco from Taqtik explains the benefits of the All-on-4® treatment available at Chiang Mai International Dental Dental Center in Thailand.
Professor Paulo Malo

Prof. Malo graduated as a Dentist at the University of Lisbon in 1989. Years later, he developed the Malo Clinic Protocol which includes surgical techniques and innovative products such as the All-on-4® treatment concept, a new zygoma implant and protocol, the NobelSpeedy implant and the advanced technical solution Malo Clinic Bridge.  Prof. Malo is recognized worldwide by the dental and medical community as setting a new standard in fixed oral rehabilitation and has received several awards for his medical/dental breakthrough.

Characteristics and Benefits

The All-on-4® treatment concept is a cost-efficient, graft less solution that provides patients with a fixed full-arch prosthesis on the day of surgery.

  • Full-arch rehabilitation with only four implants- two straight anterior implants and two implants tilted up to 45 degrees in the posterior.
  • Immediate function-fixed provisional bridge for patients meeting criteria for immediate loading of implants.

Graft less procedure- bone grafting is avoided by tilting the posterior implants, utilizing available bone.

Overview of procedure

First visit:

In your first visit, implants are placed into your jaw. Then, over the next two to six months, the implants and the bone can bond together to form anchors for your artificial teeth. While you will be walking out with a new smile, keep in mind that these prostheses are only temporary.

Second visit:

In your second visit, the healing has already taken place and the implants which were placed surgically, now completely fuse to your jawbone.  This is the time when your teeth are replaced with a permanent customized smile that is designed specifically for you.

And keep in mind that if you would like your whole mouth done, then you will have four perfectly placed implants for your top arch and four on your bottom arch.  Between the 8 implants, in the whole mouth, you will have your smile completely restored.

When it comes to appearance and feel, the only difference between dental implants and real teeth is that they are fake. They are customized to look, feel and fit exactly like all the other teeth in your dental collection.

Protect the Long Term Health of your Teeth and Gum with Braces

Braces are an orthodontic treatment that aim to re position teeth and improve the overall appearance and long-term health of your teeth, gums and jaw joints.
Adult braces are often made from plastic and ceramic rather than metal, and they can be either removable, or fixed.
Removable Brace– This is a plate that can be taken out daily for cleaning. Delicate wires and springs attached to the plate move the teeth using gentle pressure.
Fixed Brace– This is used when teeth need a little more guidance. The fixed brace is temporarily stuck to your teeth, and the teeth are moved by flexible wire and brackets.

What are invisible braces?

Invisible braces are made from clear plastic, making them practically invisible. One set of plastic aligner moulds straighten your teeth over a two-week period, before being swapped out for another mould.
Invisible braces are word for approximately 22 hours a day for best results and need to be removed for eating, drinking and cleaning.

Do you need Braces?

Braces aim to re position teeth and improve the overall appearance and long-term of your teeth, gums and jaw joints. If you have crocked teeth that are ruining your good smile, chances are your over-all health could also be compromised. When upper and lower teeth are straining to align correctly, your jaw muscles can be over worked and cause headaches and discomfort. Braces work to re-align your teeth for a more comfortable bite and a brighter smile.

Are you a good candidate for braces?

To determine whether you are a good candidate for orthodontic treatment, you will need a full examination with an Orthodontist. Dental x-rays, and plaster models of your teeth will help them to propose a treatment plan. If you have permanent teeth that are crowding the jaw line, these may need to be removed. Then if you are left with enough permanent teeth, the procedure will go ahead.

How long do you have to wear braces?

For the treatment to be effective, your teeth will need to be held in place for a specific period. Your braces are adjusted by your Orthodontist every four to six weeks during this time
Every individual jawline has different problems and needs. Some only need braces for a few months, some up to two years.
In addition, once the braces are removed a retainer is used for some time to allow the surrounding gum and bone time to settle.
The results of the treatment are dependent on the Orthodontist, but also the commitment of the patient.

Caring for Teeth with Braces

Extra care needs to be taken with your teeth and mouth during your time with braces.
• Brush your teeth carefully twice day.
• Reduce consumption of sugary foods and drinks.
• Avoid sticky and hard foods that may damage or break your braces.

How much will it cost?

The cost of Orthodontics varies depending on your own personal situation and the country you are seeking treatment. It also depends on the type of braces you are choosing (metal, ceramic or invisible).
In the United States dental patients can pay up to $10,000 for Orthodontic treatment, so many people searching for a cheaper option choose to travel abroad instead.
Taqtik Marketplace members have access to hundreds of dental packages from partners all over the world.  Imperial Dental in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia have packages available from $4686 which includes an OPG exam, Lateral Ceph exam, PA Skull examo, Clinical Photograph, Orthodontic Consultation, Study model, Stainless Steel Braces, Scaling and polishing package, and Vivera Retainer.
